Todd Fairlie, Episcopal Academy Head Football Coach

Coach Fairlie has served as Episcopal's Head Varsity Football Coach since 2011. In 2012, Coach Fairlie guided the program to an Inter-Ac Championship; that same year, the team  was voted a Southeastern Pennsylvania Top 10 Team and earned selection as both the Philadelphia Inquirer Team of the Year and the Daily Times Super 7 Number One team. Since 2012, at least eight EA football players have gone on to participate on teams at the collegiate level, including UVA, Villanova Temple and the University of Pennsylvania. 

Prior to working at Episcopal, Coach Fairlie was the Assistant Football and Lacrosse Coach at Widener University (2007-2008) and the Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Ursinus College (2009). As a player, Coach Fairlie earned both NCAA All-American honors in both Football and Lacrosse (2005-2006) and competed in both the MLL and NLL (2007, 2008).


Chris Bates, Episcopal Academy Head Boys' Lacrosse Coach 

Coach Bates is in his first season as Episcopal's Head Varsity Boys' Lacrosse Coach (2016-2017). Chris brings a wealth of collegiate-level coaching experience to EA as the former Head Coach at Princeton University (2010-2016) and the Head Coach at Drexel University (2000-2009). Prior to being named head coach, he also served as the Assistant Coach at Drexel University (1993-1999). Coach Bates led his teams to five league or conference championships with two NCAA appearances.  

As a player at Dartmouth College, Coach Bates earned All-Ivy attackman twice. Following graduation, he competed in the NLL for seven seasons with the Philadelphia Wings (1992-1999) and was named All Pro (1996).



Josie Ferri Tomaino, Episcopal Academy Head Girls' Lacrosse Coach

Coach T is in her fourth season as the Episcopal Academy Head Varsity Girls' Lacrosse Coach. In three seasons, she has amassed a 61-13 record and helped guide the program to both an Inter-Ac (2014) and PA State (2016) Championship. In 2016, she was named Philly Lacrosse High Honorable Mention Girls' Coach of the Year. In addition to coaching at EA, Coach T is also the Co-Owner/Director of Philly Blast Lacrosse, a local club program for girls in 4th through 12th grade. 

Prior to coaching at Episcopal, Coach T served as the Assistant Coach at Villanova University (2012-2013). At Haverford College, she was a selected 4x All-Conference, 4x All-Region and was named IWLCA All-American in 2011. 



Andy Fraggos, Episcopal Academy Head Girls' Soccer Coach

Coach Fraggos joined Episcopal Academy as the Head Varsity Girls' Soccer Coach in the Fall of 2016. In his first season, he led the program to an overall record of 14-5-1. Throughout the season, the team had 13 different goal scorers and 12 players recording at least one assist, a true team effort cultivated by Coach Fraggos' emphasis on positive culture. 

In addition to coaching at Episcopal Academy, Coach Fraggos is a USSF Nationally Licensed Coach and has been on staff as a New Jersey ODP Coach since 2011. Previously, he served as the Rosemont College Women's Soccer Assistant Coach (2015-2016). Coach Fraggos is a graduate of Towson University where he played Division I Soccer!




David Knox, Episcopal Academy Head Boy's Soccer Coach

Coach Knox has served as the Head Coach for the Varsity Boys' Soccer Program since 2009. He led the team to a 2nd place finish in the competitive Inter-Ac league in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. In addition to running the EA varsity program, Coach Knox has been the Director of Coaching for Main Line Soccer since 2011. Previously, he coached at the Charlotte County Day school (2002-2009) for both the Boys' and Girls' varsity programs. Coach Knox brings tremendous international experience to The Episcopal Academy having served as the head coach and athletic director at the Bavarian International in Munich, Germany from 1995-2000 and the Head Coach for the Croxteth Community Comprehensive School in Liverpool England from 1993-1995. 




Craig Conlin, Episcopal Academy Head Boys' Basketball Coach

Coach Conlin has led the Episcopal Academy Boys' Basketball program to success for over seven seasons. In the 2015-2016 season, the team ended with a 19-6 record and was a fixture in both The Philadelphia Inquirer's top-25 rankings in Southeastern Pennsylvania and in The Delaware County Daily Times weekly "Super 7" polls. 

Prior to coaching at EA, Coach Conlin served as the Associate Head Coach at Germantown Academy for 16 years. He also enjoyed tremendous success as a Professional Basketball Player in Europe as well (1989-1993). Coach Conlin was a four-year starter at La Salle University and was named Big 5 Sportsman of the Year.




Chuck Simmonds, Episcopal Academy Head Girls' Basketball Coach

Coach Simmonds has served as the head varsity girls' basketball coach since 2004. He has led the team to two league titles (2013, 2014) and the 2013 state title, the same year the team was ranked #1 by the Delco Daily Times Super 7. In the last five seasons, EA Girls' Basketball has not only finished 1st or 2nd in the Inter-Ac league, but has also placed in The Philadelphia Inquirer Top 10 or Honorable Mention City Rankings.

Prior to coaching at EA, Coach Simmonds was the assistant coach at Archbishop Carroll, Bryn Mawr College, and Marple Newtown, as well as the Athletic Director for Holy Child Academy located in Drexel Hill. Coach Simmonds also has over 16 years of experience coaching at the AAU level for the Comets.




Max Kelly, Episcopal Academy Head Boys' Water Polo Coach

Coach Kelly has served as the Head Coach for the Varsity Boys' Water Polo team at Episcopal Academy for the last four years. Previously, he was the head coach at William Penn Charter, where he led the program to an Inter-Ac Championship. Coach Kelly also works with USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program as the U16 team Head Coach. 

As a standout member of the water polo team at Occidental College, Coach Kelly served as team captain and earned All-Conference and All-America honors as a goalkeeper.
 





Alicia Newman, Episcopal Academy Head Girls' Water Polo Coach

Coach Newman has led the Varsity Girls' Water Polo team to victory since 2008. The three-time Eastern Champions (2008, 2010, 2016) made history in the 2016-2017 season with an impressive 19-1 finish. The team's notable accomplishments also include a fifth place finish in Flight 1 at the Beast of the East tournament and four solid wins against The Hill School. For her efforts, Coach Newman was selected for the USAWP Doc Hunkler Distinguished Coaching Award (2016).

Prior to coaching at EA, Coach Newman worked with the USA Water Polo's Olympic Development Program and in 2011, was given the USA Water Polo's East Region Top Coach award. Alicia graduated from Iona College, where she was a three year water polo captain for the Gaels.



John Goens, Episcopal Academy Head Girls' Varsity Track Coach (Indoor & Outdoor)

Coach Goens is entering his 8th season coaching for the Varsity Girls' Indoor & Outdoor Team. He has led the program to multiple Inter-Ac  (2013, 2014, 2015) and PAISAA  (2011, 2014, 2016) Championship titles as well as back to back Penn Relay "Philadelphia Academic" 4 x 400 Championship titles (2013, 2014). Coach Goens has trained countless qualifiers for New Balance Indoor and Outdoor Nationals and holds a USATF Level 1 coaching certification. 




Laurie Finnical, Episcopal Academy Head Varsity Cross Country & Middle School Track Coach

Coach Finnical has over a decade of experience coaching track at Episcopal Academy; she has served as the Head Coach for the Middle School Track program since 2007 and has worked with the Varsity Cross Country team since 2009. In 2014, she lead the girls' varsity team to an Inter-Ac championship. Coach Finnical is a USATF Level 1 Certified Coach.






Mike Hickey, Episcopal Academy Head Baseball Coach

Coach Hickey is in his 4th season as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Episcopal Academy. Previously, he coached for 11 seasons at Malvern Prep, where he won six Inter-Ac championships and three PA State titles. Coach Hickey has earned Main Line Times Coach of the Year recognitions three times and under his tutelage, Coach Hickey has coached and mentored over 100 players that have gone on to play at the collegiate level, including over 60 that went on to play at Division I programs, and 13 players selected in the major league draft. In 2007 alone, his roster consisted of 16 future Division I players and 5 MLB draft selections.  Hickey's knack for identifying talent led him to serve as a scout for both the San Diego Padres and Selectfest Baseball, the Northeast's Top-Rated Showcase. Former high school standout at Malvern Prep, Hickey was honored as an all-league and all-city player in football and baseball during his senior year. He competed collegiately at Dickinson College from where he graduated in 1992 with degrees in Physics and Economics. In 2000, he completed his Masters degree in Physical Science at West Chester University. 


Kelly Edwards, Episcopal Academy Head Softball Coach

Coach Edwards is in her first season as Head Coach for the Episcopal Academy Varsity Softball Team after coaching as an assistant in the varsity program for nine years. She helped guide the team to two Inter-Ac Championships (2014, 2015) and also the 2014 PA State Championship. Many Episcopal Academy softball players have continued on to play at the collegiate level for programs such as Princeton, Amherst and Franklin & Marshall.





Cara Lavallee, Episcopal Academy Director of Dance

Coach Lavallee has directed Episcopal Academy's Dance Program since 2013 and served as the Head Coach for the Middle and Upper School Dance Teams. She brings experience coaching dancers in grades K-12 as well as dancers at the collegiate level. Coach Lavallee has cross-trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical and modern dance and holds a Masters in Education from Temple University. Recent graduates of EA's Dance Program now perform with dance companies at Vanderbilt, NYU and Brown.





Damon Kuzemka, Episcopal Academy Head Wrestling Coach

Coach Kuzemka has over 30 years of wrestling experience, both as a coach and a competitor. He has taught at EA and led the wrestling program as the Head Varsity coach since 2010. Previously, he served as the head coach at Sun Valley High School (2004-2010), where he earned Coach of the Year in 2008-2009 and guided the team to four league titles. In college, Coach Kuzemka wrestled for US Air Force Academy (DI) under legendary US Olympic coach Wayne Baughman.
